Getting Busy
Feb 17th
As well as becoming a Dad almost a month ago (where have the last four weeks gone?) I’ve become increasingly busy on the freelance front. After working for Classics Monthlywith Gez on the 6th, I spent the last weekend working for another two mags, Total Vauxhall and MG Enthusiast.
Two very different cars, two very different owners, but with one thing in common.
Their love of their cars. It’s a big part of why I love doing owners stories so much, some will turn their nose up and say ‘pfft, it’s only an Astra’ but to the owner, it’s so much more than that. It’s their pride and joy, their passion and their hobby. Even if you don’t like the motor, you’ve got to love the passion.
A good days work
Feb 6th
Today I had the pleasure of going on my first gig for Classics Monthly. A brilliant day, with a real classic, I also got to work with another car nut, as I was working with former Mini Mag editor turned freelancer, Gerard Hughes. The weather threatened to ruin proceedings all week long, but just when we needed it, the sun came out.
Gez took some first class shots of the car and it’s owner, and the whole thing was a real pleasure. No surprise then that since sitting down at my PC, the copy has come together pretty quickly. Its so much easier when you’re working with people who have the same passion as you do.
Needless to say, I’m buzzing after such a good day.
